Ipswich ‘City of Culture’ 100%

Ipswich for City of Culture 2029? Absolutely, we’re 100% behind it!
And our parks? We think they should be part of our story.

Culture. You might think of galleries and theatres. But in Ipswich? Culture is also very much outside, in our parks.

Our parks are alive! Join Park Run, the Junior Wildlife Club, or catch a guided bat walk. Play tennis, have a kickabout, or go bowling. Music festivals, food markets, art trails, family fun days, forest schools, orchard picnics, funfairs, illuminated trails, outdoor cinema, geocaching, heritage trails… there’s always something happening. Brilliant volunteers make them even better, like our favourite real-life Womble @rubbishwalks out there litter-picking.

When people think about Ipswich, it’s what they experience that sticks. And a huge part of that positive experience comes from our parks. They’re for everyone, great places to meet, play, explore, and hang out.

Culture isn’t just indoors, it’s happening in our parks every single day. And just like our parks belong to everyone, so does culture, because everyone creates it.
