Today we shared Lily Sparrow's story, lovingly remembered by Simon Sparrow and Cate Grant.
As a nation, many of us struggle to know what to say in times of grief. Listening to Simon talk about his daughter, Lily, for the BenchLife project was incredibly moving. Talking about our loved ones is how we keep their memories alive.
Today is World Mental Health Day, during the interview Simon spoke about the importance of the Road Victims Trust (rvtrust.org.uk) a charity that means so much to Lily’s family and friends. The Trust offers counselling, support and a safe space to speak openly and honestly about grief and mental health. Lily’s family and friends continue to fundraise in her memory to support others affected by road tragedies.
An important reminder today, that talking about mental health helps break the stigma and reminds us we’re never alone. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters
